Dear Friends:

The beginning of Foundation Day happened when the US House of Bishop’s wanted to honor Archbishop Randolph Adler on the anniversary of his consecration as the first Bishop in the Charismatic Episcopal Church. Archbishop Adler, instead of having an offering taken and given to him, set up the Foundation Day Offering to help build churches around the world.

Each June, every ICCEC church is asked to take up a special offering for the purpose of financing the purchase of land, buildings, and the building church buildings. The suggested amount was $10 dollar per person. And, the suggested date of the offering is June 27, 2010

The money collected will then be distributed by placing 1/3rd in interest bearing investments, 1/3rd in direct gifts to congregations, and 1/3rd in low interest loans to congregations. A report of recent donations, gifts, loans, and investments can be seen on www.iccecfoundationday.org

Many who came to the CEC came from independent backgrounds. By coming into the CEC they entered into a communion of churches. This communion means that the vision and mission of the CEC is a common venture and not the responsibility of one person, one congregation, or one diocese. We are in this together.

What better way to celebrate and give thanks than to take up a thank offering and then presenting it to Lord God for the advancement of His Kingdom. I encourage all of to participate fully in this important offering.

Be assured of my continued prayers for each of you.

Under His mercy,

The Most Rev. Craig W. Bates,
Patriarch, ICCEC
