Living Without Hope

UPDATE

4/20/10 – We have to date successfully raised $6108.00 for this family. We have encountered a few obstacles in our progress but have completed the first stage and have installed a new metal roof for this family that cost $1591.68. and have helped with there power bill for a number of months that has cost $441.60. Leaving a balance of $4074.72. The next step in this process is repairing their plumbing and septic problems. We are waiting for a few things to fall into place. Please continue to pray for this family, they have also experienced a number of health issues.

UPDATE

1/1/10 – Last Sunday, after sharing the needs that this family has, we took a special offering to help and to make a difference. It became so obvious that God sovereignly placed the family in our path. I have never encountered such a response from the Body of Christ, As of today we have raised nearly $4000.00 to help this family. Sometime during this last week someone told me “we need this family as much as they need us”, I am now convinced that this is true.

On Tuesday a group of guys met at the church to go and get started on being “His Hands” for this family. We arrived at their hame armed with ladders, rakes and tarps. We cleaned all of the leaves and pine-straw from the roof, assessed the roof damages and securely put some tarps on the roof to keep the rain out that was expected on Wednesday. I have reports that it was successful at keeping the rain out by the way. We are in the process of putting together a budget and prioritized list of needs, In the process we have set a preliminary budget of $7500.00 based on the following list.

1. Roof Repairs $1500.00

2. Septic Tank and Plumbing Repairs $3000.00

3. Repair Bedroom and Bathroom from roof Leaks $2000.00

4. Trailer underpinning and Misc Repairs $1000.00
