You ever ask that question? Oh God, where are You?

I think we all have asked that question at some time or other in our life, regardless of your relationship with Lord. It may have been a crisis when you asked it, it may have a been when you were lonely, it may have been when you were sad, or it may have been at a time when you just didn’t understand. In a time of desperation we have ALL asked, Oh God, where are you?

A few months ago I had the opportunity to go on a cruise for the first time. I was sitting on my balcony of the cruise ship at 6:31am watching to sun rise over the Bahamas. There were mostly clouds covering the sky except for a few breaks in the clouds. I was saying to the Lord that I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t clearer so I could see the sunrise better. He said to me;

“Even when it’s cloudy you can still see Me. Even when it’s cloudy I am still shinning through. Even when your sky seems to be covered with clouds there is ALWAYS a place that I am comong through. When that time happens you just have to look a little closer. Sometimes you have to look with intent to see me.”

As I was sitting there, I took a number of pictures as I watched the sky go from completely cloudy to an amazing split appear in the clouds.

There is ALWAYS blue above the clouds. ALWAYS! You can’t always see it but you can always trust it’s  there.

The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to  pass  by.”

Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the  LORD was not in the wind.

After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the  earthquake.

After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire.

And after the fire came a gentle  whisper.  Then Elijah heard it. 1 Kings 19

There are times in our lives when He is not obviously visible to us. Times when we say oh Lord where are  You,  because His presence doesn’t always feel as if He is transfigured before us. He is there, He is always  there.

He said, that he would never leave us or forsake us. He is there, you just have to look!

Matt
