Thanks to U2 for this great song title from their album All That You Can’t Leave Behind. Have you ever been stuck in a moment you can’t get out of? I have. There have been moments in life that I have relived a thousand times!

If you could capture a moment in your life, what would it be? Would it be your wedding day? The day your first child was born? What about the day you graduated? Would it be be a day of regret? Sometimes we spend so much time reflecting, and thinking through a past moment that we seem to get stuck. I think one of the reasons we are so ill prepared for the moment at hand is because we are still stuck in a moment that has passed.

The Apostle Paul tell us in Philippians 3:13 to forget was is behind us and strive toward what is ahead. I have looked at that verse and applied it primarily the the "bad" things in the past, or the "big" things. Would it not apply to everything in the past, good, bad or indifferent? I think it would. I have run into people from time to time, and heard stories of those who can’t seem to get past the high school football days or those who say "if I would have just done ………." We can’t live in the past, and sometimes we can’t seem to live in the present because of the past.

Today, when the moment arises, forget about the past and strive toward what is ahead. Consider the past the past, whether it was 5 minutes ago or 5 years ago, its the PAST!

Peace!
